digitalAggregate, operated by Alter Biota Inc., uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies to keep the platform working, remember your preferences, and understand how the product is used. This page explains what we store, why we store it, and how you can control it.
A “cookie” is a small text file placed on your device by your browser. We also use localStorage and sessionStorage, which are similar browser-based storage mechanisms that keep data on your device.
Essential cookies support sign-in, secure access, session continuity, and core platform functionality. They let you authenticate, stay signed in, and reach the data associated with your account. We also use essential storage to remember your cookie preferences and to keep track of notices you have dismissed.
These are required to deliver the service you have asked for. Blocking them through your browser settings may prevent parts of the platform from working. Their lifetime follows our session and security configuration.
We use browser storage to remember settings that make the platform easier to use, including navigation and layout preferences, table display settings such as column choices, sorting, filters and page size, dashboard and analysis display preferences, and guided-tour progress.
These preferences are stored in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers as part of your preferences. They remain until you change them or clear your browser storage. If you decline this category, the platform works the same way, but preferences are held only for the current tab and reset when you close it.
We use PostHog, a third-party product analytics provider, to understand how the platform is used and to monitor its performance and reliability. PostHog acts as a data processor on our behalf and hosts this data on infrastructure located in the United States, which means this information is transferred outside Canada.
When you consent to analytics, this may include page visits and feature usage, page performance measurements, error and diagnostic information, and session recordings used to study usability and investigate problems. Analytics associates this activity with an account identifier, your role, and your organisation so that we can interpret it. We do not send your name or email address to our analytics provider.
Session recordings capture how you move through the interface. Text entered into form fields is masked before a recording leaves your browser, and screens that display commercially sensitive information are excluded from recording. Session recording is disabled entirely in our local development environments.
Analytics is off until you consent. If you decline, or later withdraw consent, we stop collecting this information and remove the related analytics storage from your browser.
Separately from analytics, we record a small amount of security and reliability telemetry regardless of your analytics choice. This covers sign-in, sign-out and account-recovery attempts, and technical errors returned by our systems. We rely on our legitimate interest in protecting accounts and keeping the service available. These records contain the outcome of the event and the technical details needed to diagnose it, and we do not include the contents of your samples, analyses, or other customer data.
digitalAggregate does not use cookies for advertising, remarketing, or cross-site tracking. There are no third-party ad scripts, tracking pixels, or remarketing tags on this platform. If that changes, we will update this policy and offer the choices required at that time.
Retention varies by purpose. Authentication data lasts no longer than your session and expires with it. Your cookie preferences are kept for one year so we do not have to ask again on every visit. Functional preferences stay in your browser until you change them or clear your browser storage. Analytics data, including session recordings, is retained according to our data retention practices and our provider’s configured retention period.
You can review or change your choices at any time using the Manage Cookie Preferences control at the top of this page. You can also restrict or delete cookies and browser storage through your browser’s own settings. Where consent is required, you may withdraw it at any time through the same control. Disabling essential technologies may prevent you from signing in or using the platform.
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our services, technologies, or privacy practices. The current version is always published on this page with a revision date. When a change is material, we will ask you to review your cookie preferences again.
